It was never my intention to sell houses as part of Positive Living Solutions. Even so, plans tend to change directions according to the needs of a client. For years before starting Positive Living Solutions, I had acted as a real estate agent throughout Massachusetts, but when I was offered the contract to sell an existing client’s home, I suggested that an agent in the client’s town would be more suitable. While I had been supporting him for some time with other issues, I felt that a home sale was outside of my usual scope of services.
It was then that the man — who was middle-aged — revealed that he had health issues, compelling me to ensure that his transition to a new environment was as comfortable as possible.
So, with my brokers license in hand I affiliated with a real estate office for potential liability coverage and professional advice, if needed. It turned out that preparing for the sale and move was like “riding a bicycle” thanks to a career that also included several years in the moving industry. We got estimates from interstate movers before putting the house on the market mid- July of last year. An accepted offer within weeks closed the sale late September when the seller few south followed by furniture within days.
